HIV/AIDS Prevention Programme by Amanat Foundation Trust (AFT) and supported by UNICEF is an ongoing project that began in Murshidabad district in May 2006. Presently it comprises of 7 blocks and 2 municipalities targeting 126560 young people between 15-24 years of age group.
To implement the programme at ground level, manpower has been deputed from district to GP level. Besides periodic meetings, mass communication, group discussions, events, peer education sessions and GP level village meetings, the programme is also focusing on sensitizing the youth concerning HIV/AIDS prevention. For this, AFT is currently coordinating with local government administration and other health-based organizations.
Various projects run by the state government like SGSY, KSY, JSY and others are integrated within this project.
